Do not use Hazard Lights while driving in the rain.

Hazard lights are meant only for imminent danger and to announce to others to be alert and cautious. As soon as the danger is over, the driver has the obligation to turn off hazard / warning lights immediately.  Vehicle should be stationary when using hazard lights.

When driving in a downpour we must not switch on our hazard lights as it is blinding to others as it pulsates and blinks. It also causes the signaling lights to be in-operable and thus other drivers will not know your intentions of moving left or right.

Drivers should instead ensure headlights are switched on and wiper blades are in good condition. If inclement weather is unsafe for driving then stop at a safe side street and wait it out.
