The accident happened on 29 February 2020, at the junction of Ghim Moh Road and Commonwealth Ave West. The accident happened because the silver BMW failed to check for oncoming traffic when making a discretionary right turn.
As part of efforts to decrease such incidents from happening, red-amber-green turning arrows will be introduced at the majority of traffic junctions over the next three years.
