A fleeting 13-second video shared on the ROADS.sg Facebook page last week has recently stirred quite the conversation.
And, intriguingly, not because of any vehicular drama or contentious incident, but rather a candid exhibition of resilience by a certain automaker.
The footage unfolds reminiscent of a suspenseful advertisement. Initially withholding the identity of the car in question, it commences with a purple Hyundai Avante colliding directly into the cam car.

The strong impact made by the Hyundai could also be heard from the recording itself in the passenger’s scream of shock
Amidst the audible shock and surprise of the passenger, what transpired next in the video left the audience – including netizens – thoroughly astounded.
After the Impact
As the video sweeps over to the next scene, the central element of the video comes into view.
As it enters the climax of the video, it unveils the once-pristine white Volvo, bearing the full impact of the collision that we have seen earlier.
Remarkably, this vehicle only had a minor dent on its rear bumper, while a stark difference could be seen on the Purple Hyundai. The Hyundai had its headlight shattered, bumper disheveled, bonnet crumpled, and remnants of its facade scattered on the ground.

Netizens Impressed by Volvo’s Durability
With nearly 97k views and over 200 comments at the time of writing, many marveled at this unplanned testament to Volvo’s robust build and superior body strength.
Among the throngs, there was a shared sentiment: if there’s a gold standard for vehicular fortitude, the Volvo might just be it.

This was followed by netizens complimenting Volvo’s durability. Few netizens even commented how Volvo will be their next car, having seen what their car promises.

Yet, the most remarkable bit? This wasn’t a meticulously crafted campaign by Volvo.
Instead, it was an unfiltered, unvarnished moment captured on film, speaking volumes more than any staged advert could.
For Volvo, perhaps, reality is the best endorsement.
