Malaysian VEP checks currently not being enforced

Malaysian Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) enforcement, which was supposed to begin at the start of October, has been delayed yet again, the Malaysian Transport Ministry has announced.

However, it seems that there is substantial confusion surrounding the issue, with some customs officers saying it is currently being enforced, and with others saying the opposite.

ROADS.sg’s best tip is to continue your VEP application process if you aim to cross the border by checkpoint – there is no 100% confirmation as to whether using a copy of the VEP confirmation slip will suffice for the border crossing.
