The driver finished his cigarette and conveniently threw it onto the road. This littering act is an offence and National Environmental Agency is working hard to eradicate littering in Singapore.
The last part of the video shows an example of another motorist being called up by NEA and issued a fine for throwing a cigarette butt onto the road.
The act of dumping the cigarette butt has constituted a littering offence under Section 17(1)(a) of the Environmental Public Health Act(Cap.95). The offence carries a maximum fine of not exceeding $2000.
The public can report any littering offence online: https://www.nea.gov.sg/corporate-functions/feedback
