From Courts to Communities, Leapmotor is Powering PickleMall

Crowd gathering around at The Leap Shot at Sengkang Grand Mall

Not long ago, pickleball was still relatively unknown in Singapore. Today, it has become one of the country’s fastest-growing participation sports, bringing together players of all ages through a game that is easy to learn, highly social and surprisingly competitive.

As interest in the sport continues to grow, so too does the way people experience it.

Rather than being confined to dedicated sports halls and community clubs, pickleball is making its way into the heart of Singapore’s busiest lifestyle destinations through PickleMall – a travelling sports-lifestyle activation that transforms shopping mall atriums into vibrant community spaces where visitors can learn, play, compete and connect.

Beginning its first stop at Sengkang Grand Mall from 18 to 30 August, PickleMall will continue its journey to Junction 8, Aperia Mall and finally Geneo, bringing the excitement of Singapore’s fastest-growing sport to communities across the island. Throughout the four-stop series, visitors can look forward to open play sessions, coaching clinics, community tournaments, lifestyle activations and interactive experiences designed for both seasoned players and those picking up a paddle for the very first time.

Behind this new sporting destination is Leapmotor, which comes on board as the Official Title Partner of PickleMall.

But this partnership is about more than putting a logo on an event.

Beyond Traditional Sponsorship

The relationship between automotive brands and consumers has changed dramatically over the years.

Today’s drivers aren’t simply looking at horsepower, range or specifications. They’re looking for brands that understand how they live, spend their weekends and connect with their communities.

For Leapmotor, PickleMall represents an opportunity to engage people in a setting that reflects those changing lifestyles. Rather than meeting consumers inside a showroom, the brand becomes part of an experience centred around sport, wellness and community.

It is a partnership that reflects a growing trend across the automotive industry—where meaningful engagement often comes through shared experiences rather than traditional advertising alone.

Where Sport Meets Innovation

The Leap Shot Booth

One of the most distinctive experiences visitors will encounter at PickleMall is The Leap Shot—an interactive pickleball challenge created exclusively for the event.

Designed as a fast-paced precision challenge, participants have just 15 seconds to score as many successful shots as possible before climbing the venue leaderboard. Live scoring adds a competitive edge, encouraging friends and families to return throughout the activation to improve their rankings.

What makes The Leap Shot unique isn’t just the gameplay, but the thinking behind its design.

Rather than creating a conventional sponsor activation, the challenge itself draws inspiration from the rear design language of the Leapmotor C10. The custom-built target recreates the distinctive styling cues of the vehicle’s rear profile, subtly connecting the game to the brand while allowing visitors to engage with Leapmotor through participation rather than passive observation.

It is an example of how sponsorship can move beyond banners and branding, becoming an experience that visitors actively remember long after they’ve left the mall.

Inspired by the Leapmotor C10

As the inspiration behind The Leap Shot, the Leapmotor C10 represents the brand’s approach towards intelligent mobility—combining thoughtful design, everyday practicality and advanced technology into a modern electric SUV.

Rather than viewing innovation purely through technical specifications, Leapmotor focuses on creating vehicles that integrate naturally into everyday life. It is the same philosophy reflected in PickleMall: making new experiences approachable, accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

While The Leap Shot takes visual inspiration from the C10’s distinctive rear design, the activation also reflects the vehicle’s emphasis on precision, responsiveness and intelligent engineering—qualities translated into a sporting challenge that rewards speed, consistency and accuracy.

More Than Just Pickleball

Although pickleball sits at the heart of PickleMall, the initiative is ultimately about building communities.

Visitors can expect beginner-friendly coaching sessions, open play opportunities, community tournaments, corporate programmes and family-friendly activities designed to encourage participation regardless of age or playing experience. Certified coaches will also be on hand throughout the activation to introduce newcomers to the sport in a welcoming and accessible environment.

By bringing these experiences into shopping malls, PickleMall transforms familiar retail spaces into vibrant community destinations where people gather not only to shop, but to spend time together, discover new hobbies and connect through sport.

For Jason Lim, CEO of Stratgeist, the company behind PickleMall, that community-first approach has been central to the concept from the beginning.

“PickleMall was never meant to be just about putting a pickleball court inside a shopping mall. We wanted to create a space where people can come together, try the sport for the first time, play with friends and family, and ultimately build connections through pickleball. With Leapmotor coming on board as our Official Title Partner, we’re able to take that vision further and show how brands, malls and sport can come together to create experiences that genuinely add something to the community.”

Driving the Future of Community Experiences

Participant of The Leap Shot

As PickleMall travels across Sengkang Grand Mall, Junction 8, Aperia Mall and Geneo, it represents more than another sporting event on Singapore’s calendar.

It reflects a broader shift in how communities engage with lifestyle brands, how shopping malls are evolving into experiential destinations, and how partnerships between sport and mobility can create something far more memorable than traditional sponsorship.

For Leapmotor, becoming the Official Title Partner of PickleMall is not simply about supporting Singapore’s fastest-growing sport. It is about supporting the people, communities and shared experiences that make the sport special.

Whether visitors are stepping onto a pickleball court for the first time, challenging friends at The Leap Shot, or simply soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, PickleMall offers a fresh way to experience sport, community and innovation—bringing them together under one roof as it travels across Singapore.
