Safety is of paramount importance to Grab. From the moment a booking is made to the time a trip ends, Grab takes a multi-dimensional approach to safety — with efforts aimed at protecting physical wellbeing, safeguarding personal data, and fostering a more respectful, trusted environment for both passengers and driver-partners. This end-to-end commitment has earned Grab a nomination in the Road Safety Champion Company category at the ROADS Awards 2025.
Grab’s Safety Management System includes a suite of proactive features designed to prevent incidents and provide timely support. Real-time trip monitoring, speeding alerts, and an emergency SOS button help detect and respond to risks on the road. Fatigue alerts encourage driver-partners to take breaks and stay alert behind the wheel.
To reduce harassment risks and promote a respectful ride experience, Grab introduced anonymised number masking and Quiet Ride mode, giving both passengers and drivers greater control over their interactions. In-app audio recording (Audio Protect), available when turned on by both passengers and driver-partners, adds another layer of accountability.
Passengers and drivers can report concerns easily through Grab’s in-app Safety Centre, backed by a 24/7 response team trained to handle emergencies and safety issues swiftly.
These efforts reflect Grab’s broader ESG commitment to building a safer, more inclusive, and trusted transport platform — a commitment recognised with its nomination in the Road Safety Champion Company category at the ROADS Awards 2025.
