Last week on 9 October 2025, the ROADS.sg community gathered for the ROADS Awards 2025, an annual celebration recognising individuals, organisations, and innovators who have gone above and beyond to make Singapore’s roads safer and kinder.
Presented by Budget Direct Insurance and proudly organised by ROADS.sg, this year’s event brought together familiar faces and new advocates from across the road safety ecosystem, from bus captains and private-hire drivers to safety engineers and community champions.
Celebrating 11 Years of Our Journey

The evening marked a special milestone for us. For over 11 years, the ROADS.sg team has been championing road safety and kindness through stories, campaigns, and community initiatives that have reached over 15 million viewers a month.
Seeing everyone gathered together to celebrate that shared mission was a powerful reminder of how far our community has come.
We were deeply honoured to have Ms Yeo Wan Ling, Executive Secretary of the National Transport Workers’ Union (NTWU), as our Guest of Honour.

“This was a coming together of the ROADS community,” Ms Yeo said.
“It’s heartening to see both familiar faces and new friends joining to promote safety, innovation, and most importantly, kindness on the road.”
She reminded us that while our viral clips reach millions, what truly matters is the deeper message behind them.
“Life matters, and it’s important for all of us to be stakeholders in making sure everyone goes home safe at night.”
Honouring Our Road Safety Champions
Our first segment of the evening celebrated the Road Safety Champions for companies, individuals, and associations that exemplify leadership and commitment to safer roads.
Among our corporate awardees were:
- Komoco Motors, SMRT Buses, and SBS Transit — recognised for their contributions to community safety.
- Kienta Engineering Construction, TADA Mobility, and Grab — honoured for innovation in safety initiatives.
- Singapore Post Limited — celebrated for its leadership in building a strong safety culture.
We also recognised individual champions who have made remarkable personal contributions to road safety, including Chief Bus Captain Tan Lee Kun, Bus Captain Shakir, Nazrum, Steven Lim, Juwakhir, and Peline Ong, all of whom have inspired others through their leadership, advocacy, and compassion on the road.
In the association category, Harley Owners Group Singapore (HOGS) and the Singapore Motorcycle Trade Association (SMCTA) were celebrated for their dedication to promoting safe riding practices and community engagement.
Celebrating Innovation and Everyday Heroes

The second half of the night spotlighted creativity and compassion in road safety.
Under the Vehicle Safety Technology category, we recognised Omoda Jaecoo, Singapore Post, SMRT Buses, Hyundai Singapore, and Tan Chong Motors for advancing safety innovations that prevent accidents and protect drivers and passengers alike.
In the Trending Safety Gadget segment, SBS Transit Ltd and Autopoint Performance Pte Ltd stood out for creating and applying technologies that make everyday commuting safer for all.
The most heartfelt moments came from our Good Samaritans of the Road category where we honoured individuals who went above and beyond to help others.

- Bus Captain Yau Minddin – For Compassion in Action
- Addy – For Acts of Courage
- Vaune Phan – For Everyday Heroism
Their stories moved the audience deeply and reminded us that kindness is often the most powerful safety measure of all.
Learning Through Fun and Community Spirit

To keep things light and engaging, we also held a Mentimeter mini-game where guests tested their road safety knowledge in a fun quiz. It was laughter, competition, and learning all in one — and a great reminder that awareness begins with education.
As Ms Yeo summed it up perfectly: “All of us are coming together not just to celebrate, but to take ownership in keeping each other safe.”
Driving Forward Together

As the evening came to a close, we were reminded once again why we do what we do. The ROADS Awards is more than just an event but a movement driven by all of us, for all of us.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our sponsors, partners, and friends of the community who made this year’s celebration possible — Budget Direct Insurance, Strat Studio, Heineken 0.0, DKSH Healthcare, and Wearnes Harley-Davidson — as well as our dedicated judges, nominees, and attendees who continue to inspire us with their support and passion for road safety.
Your belief in our mission fuels what we do every day: to share stories, spark conversations, and build a culture of kindness and awareness on Singapore’s roads.
Because when everyone plays their part, everyone gets home safe.
