What happens when one car speeds up and the other crosses the double white line? They kiss.
Recently, a video posted on ROADS.sg shows a crash between a Lamborghini and Toyota.
We would love to see this story unfold into a love story, but we’re pretty sure that the case will be far more complicated than that (or less), depending on how we see it.
In the video shared by one of the netizens, a black Lamborghini, which appears to be speeding, dashes out from the first lane beside the cam car. This is then followed by a black Toyota exiting from the left.
Before we start pointing fingers at either side of the drivers, let’s take a closer look at what we have here.
What exactly happened
The Lamborghini:
From what we can see in the video, the Lamborghini seems to be speeding in the rightmost lane. Whether or not the driver is going above the speed limit, we can’t exactly tell from the video.
The Toyota:
The Toyota, on the other hand, appeared from the left, crossing 2 lanes before meeting the Lamborghini just right at the perfect spot where they collided.
As the video unfolds a little later, what seemed to be a normal lane crossing turns out to be crossing of the double white lines, which were there in the first place for a reason — avoiding accidents with oncoming traffic that may be coming down at a higher speed.
However, one netizen pointed out that the case might have been that the Toyota driver was actually not cutting from lane 3 across the double white line into lane 1, but instead from lane 2 to lane 1, hence not breaking any traffic rules of cutting across a double white line.
Whether or not this is the case, we can not really tell from the video since the video that was provided seems a little blurry.

“Speeding” one netizen wrote which seems to be pointing at the Lamborghini for speeding while the other replied “Yes. MPV Speeding. why no patience to wait”
However, most comments were pointing out the bad driving habit of the black Toyota for disregarding the double white line.
“Why do drivers think those painted lines are just for decoration??!!”
While you may conclude that the black Toyota was at fault, some netizens start raising questions about the actual speed limit on that road and why the Lamborghini decided to speed up as the Toyota appeared on the left.
Maybe the Lamborghini could have slowed down to avoid the accident.
Conclusion
As excited as we are to find out how this case unfolds, it will be up to the Traffic Police to investigate, and insurance companies to decide on the claiming matter.
From this video alone, we cannot conclude who is right or wrong, but all we can say is to obey all traffic rules and regulations and drive safely!
