Parents need to make that extra effort to guide young children to ONLY use designated road crossings. They are innocent and need safety inputs. Drivers must remember to slow down at school zones as the restricted speed limit is only 40 kph.

Under the Road Traffic Act(Pedestrian Crossings) Rules.

Any pedestrian who is within 50 metres of either side of a pedestrian crossing, or within such shorter distance, as indicated by traffic signs shall make use of the pedestrian crossing for the purpose of crossing the road.
